Big Band Double Header February 2023 with Sound Force

Local Oxford Big Band, The Velvet Tones are back with The Big Band Double Header on Thursday 16th March 2023. Next month (April) will be the last of the Winter events at The Oxford Golf Club, Hill Top Rd, Oxford, OX4 1PF. Starting in May, the Spring Big Band Double Header nights will move to their temporary home. Join us in May at The North Oxford Golf Club,Banbury Rd, Oxford, OX2 8EZ, and that will continue through to September.

This month joining The Velvet Tones on stage is Sound Force from Thame. It is always a great night of dancing when these two bands are together. Therefore please do come and join us. Everything looks set for the Big Band Double Header March 2023 to be one you wont want to miss. If you are new to the social dance floor it is still a great night out.

See Saw Children’s Charity At The Big Band Double Header March 2023

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to enjoy the cash bar and the dance floor. Every month the Big Band Double Header raises money in aid of charity. This month we will be fundraising for the children’s charity SeeSaw.

SeeSaw provides support for children, young people and their families in Oxfordshire when they have been bereaved. As a result they support people when somebody close to them is terminally ill. Through appropriate and timely support, SeeSaw can help to reduce the emotional, psychological and mental health consequences of grief. Young people are then able to face the future with hope.

There is a suggested (and expected) donation of £5 for the charity of the night and please hold a bit of change back for the famous £1 – 1 Prize raffle which features the finest bottle of sparkling wine that the bargain shelf of the local supermarket has to offer.

We are very lucky in Oxford. Our dance scene is very strong. Consequently we can dance every week. There are dance nights running 4 and sometimes 5 nights a week. Consequently the Big Band Double Header March 2023 is a great way to get more dancing in your week.
