Saturday 17th September 2022 11:00am – 7:30pm
The Oxford Canal Festival 2022 at Aristotle Lane Recreation Ground, Aristotle Lane, Oxford, OX2 6TP
Swing Dance Summertown are proud to support the Oxford Canal Festival 2022 and will be running Swing Dance Classes and playing some great swing tunes to get you all tapping your feet and dancing.
This is a charity event in aid of The Kilsby Project who are raising money for a community narrowboat restoration project.
This is a full family day of activities and entertainment. Swing Dance Summertown will start the morning off at 11:00am with some great swing music. Later Lucy will lead the visitors in a Swing Dance class so feel free to come and join in. All dancers are welcome and it would be great to have some people along to show the visitors how great swing dancing can be. Feel free to tell those you meet to come along to our classes.
Local historians will be available to explain the history of the canal and Tooley’s boatyard which is the oldest working dry dock on the Inland Waterways. Community stalls and traders will have plenty of interesting and delicious things to buy, and there is a full programme of entertainment planned featuring different musical styles.
Full details of the festival day can be found on their website.
