Our friends The Velvet Tones are back with The Big Band Double Header February 2023 on Thursday 16th February 2023. Come along to The Oxford Golf Club, Hill Top Rd, Oxford, OX4 1PF.

This month joining The Velvet Tones on stage is The Cutting Edge Big Band. This will be their final gig before they headline on the Friday night at The Oxford Swing Festival. You can expect a very dance oriented set with our own Steph Pirrie on Trumpet and featuring Kim Osmond on vocals. This isn’t one you will want to miss. Come along and practice your dance moves so you can shine at the Town Hall. Anyone for a California routine?

Oxford Parent Infant Project

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to enjoy the cash bar and the dance floor. Every month the Big Band Double Header raises money in aid of charity and this month it is the Oxford Parent Infant Project (OXPIP). OXPIP tackle some of society’s most challenging issues by helping parents and their babies to form strong and loving relationships. They provide this particularly in the first two years. OXPIP support new families in what can often be challenging circumstances to offer intensive therapeutic help to parents, and their babies in Oxfordshire and surrounding areas. The event is free but a £5 donation to the charity of the night is suggested and expected. Don’t forget to hold some money back for the £1 – one prize raffle which features the finest bottle of sparkling wine that the bargain shelf of the local supermarket can offer! There is a dance floor and it is a great way for new dancers to take their first steps onto the social dance floor and experience the full Big Band Sound.
