Hop The Hall For January 2023 – Friday 6th January 2023 from 8pm until Late.

Oxford kicks off the dancing for 2023 with our regular monthly social and we invite everyone to come and Hop The Hall with us.

Once a month the various Swing Dance Classes and groups come together for one big Social Dance. Hop The Hall for January 2023 is run by the Oxford Lindy Hoppers on the first Friday of every month. It is one of the longest running and most established monthly events in the UK Swing Dance Calendar.

It is a great opportunity for Lindy Hoppers to get together in Oxford to dance and chat. If you’re new to social dancing, this is the perfect place to get out on the floor in a relaxed atmosphere or listen to some great tunes played by our local DJs and occasional live bands. It’s fun and informal.

Currently dancers are asked to bring your own water bottle. Taps are provided to fill them.

There is currently a Cashless (please no cash) request for payments on the door. Tickets cost £5. You can also book ahead on Dance Cloud.

We are going to try something a bit different for the door in January and upgrade the old honour system that we used to use.  Instead of a box with cash though we are going to setup a Zettle payment machine on the door with a recurring cost payment of £5.  That way everyone entering can just tap a contactless payment method on the Zettle.  It means we won’t have to man the door.

Oxford Lindy Hoppers no longer do checks for negative Covid tests on the door. Dancers are still asked to be vigilant and maintain an environment where everyone looks after each other. lease do not attend if you are feeling unwell, and together we can keep the dance floor Covid free.
