Sunday 10th July 2022 from approximately 5:00pm until 8:00pm

Before lockdown happened in March 2020 we were regulars at Blenheim Palace.  Every weekend we took a group of dancers in for a social dance session inside the Palace. The Palace was open to the public but we had an area dedicated to us where we dressed up and brought the party back to the Palace, just like it was back in the 1920s at the height of the Jazz Age when The Bright Young Things partied until dawn.

We’ve been asked back to Blenheim on Sunday 10th July 2022 from approximately 5:00pm until 8:00pm. This is hugely exciting as it is the first time that Blenheim have opened their doors to dancers since we all had to stop dancing in 2020. Our dancing sessions will start at around 6:00pm but we need to be in place when they open the doors so they have asked us to be there at around 5:00pm.

Paul Maze and Winston Churchill: Companions of the Brush Exhibition

The event is for the launch of a new exhibition called ‘Paul Maze and Winston Churchill: Companions of the Brush’. We won’t be teaching so this will purely be an occasion to dress up, and dance in one of the most amazing spaces to be found anywhere. They are placing us in The Long Library which doubles as a ballroom. They have also mentioned that they will provide live music although we will take our music along just as we did last time. Dress code for this is going to be 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, but do remember it is going to be the height of Summer so Summer Vintage styles might be very appealing in hot weather. Hopefully that gives everyone some scope to work with.

A quick note because the last time we were in the Long Library we were dancing on carpet. It was very nice red carpet but carpet all the same. Please keep that in mind for your footwear.
