Every month, our friends The Velvet Tones present the Big Band Double Header. This is a free entry gig with donations requested and expected for a nominated charity of the night.

The Velvet Tones play host to Al Ryan’s Jazz Swingtet

This month they are joined by Al Ryan’s Jazz Swingtet. The nominated charity is Maggies – Everyone’s Home of Cancer Care. Maggie’s provide free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online. Their Support Specialists, Psychologists and Benefits Advisors provide advice, information and support, if you or someone you care about has cancer.

Swing Dance Summertown are proud to support this regular monthly gig and our dancers are one of the reasons why people come along with the great musicians and singers all performing their hearts out.

The music starts at 8:00pm and goes on until late.  The first set will feature The Velvet Tones with Richard and Claire as vocalists. Al Ryan’s Jazz Swingtet will follow around 9:30pm after the break.  There is a dance floor throughout the evening, as well as a bar. Don’t forget the famous £1 – One Prize Raffle which features a bottle of the finest sparkling wine that the bargain shelf of the local supermarket can offer!
