Social Swing Al Fresco 2025 means you can come and dance in Summertown as you watch the sun go down. That’s a pretty beautiful way to spend an evening. Last year we brought you Social Swing Al Fresco. It was so popular that we are going to trust the weather gods and do it again this Summer for 2025. Come and join us in Summertown for Social Swing Al Fresco 2025. It will be an evening of social dancing.

There will be no class, just social dancing. We provide you with music and a dance floor. You can dance, practice and perfect the moves you have learned this term. It is a very informal environment and also an opportunity to chat. Just dress however Summer demands and come along for a fun evening of dancing as the sun sets into the western sky.  We were very lucky last year with some lovely sunsets to watch as the music played. We are hoping for a similar end of the day vibe this year too.

It’s going to be Hot! (we hope!)

We think it’s going to be hot and so we have booked the Garden at The Cherwell School South Site, Marston Ferry Road, Oxford, OX2 6UX. Come along anytime from 7:30pm and we will have the music setup outside for you to dance. The surface is Astro-Turf which is very similar to the same surface at The Westgate Centre where some of you have danced before.  Last year, everyone that came along said that the surface was much better than either concrete or grass and was actually quite pleasant to dance on.  That has encouraged us to do it again.

We also have Classroom 64 which has doors that open out onto the garden, and we have a contingency where we can move to the cafeteria if the heavens open and we get washed out. We will set the urn and refreshments up in Classroom 64, and move them to the cafeteria if the heavens open.

Bring a picnic and dance in the sunshine at Swing Al Fresco 2025

Feel free to bring an evening picnic to eat outside if would like to enjoy the evening sunshine. The garden area has some wide benches that work as tables.
We just need a contribution to hire the venue and so if Members can pay £5 and Non-Members can pay £6 that will help us cover the cost for the evening. Everything else is the same as normal.  just turn up, park – free of charge in the car park, and follow the music.  It will lead you into the gardens.

Just as last year, Aaron will be DJing music through the evening using the Mighty-Mini-Rig speakers.

As usual we have refreshments for everyone to help keep you all hydrated and fully biscuit-ed.
