Step into our world of Jazz swing and Social Dancing. We cordially invite you to join us this April for The Summertown Speakeasy April 2026 on Saturday 18th April. It is Oxford’s Big Saturday night out for dancers. Held at the Cherwell School North Site, this is your chance to experience a truly special social dance. It brings together music, atmosphere, and space in a way that’s hard to find anywhere else.
At the heart of the evening is our huge wooden dance floor, giving you the freedom to really move. Whether you love Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, or even Foxtrot & Quickstep, there’s space to dance properly. The music is carefully selected big band jazz and swing, delivered through a professional sound system that keeps the energy high from the first track to the last. Many of our dancers remark at how they enjoy the music we play and how good it sounds. We work hard on both the content and the technical system of delivery to provide you with a memorable dance experience.
What makes the Summertown Speakeasy stand out is the atmosphere. The venue is transformed with Art Deco lighting and vintage-inspired visuals, including our giant projector screen across the stage. It creates a genuine Jazz Age feel. Consequently it’s not just a dance, The Speakeasy is an experience.

All you have to do is make your way to your table and soak up the atmosphere before heading for the dance floor.
