The Carpathians Big Band Winter Dance Party is a fun night out for dancers. The band are a firm favourite for at The Big Band Double Header and really played a great set when they were last there. This isn’t a Swing Dance Summertown event and is actually run by the band themselves. It is their own event and called the Winter Dance Party 01/02/2025.
What better way to spend your Saturday evening than enjoying a wonderful selection of jazz, swing, blues and contemporary music played for you by The Carpathians Big Band. The band features the highly talented Anna Shackleton on vocals. Tickets are £15 at the door with a reduction for couples of £25 Per Couple. Booking details are bleow but you can also pay on the door. There is a Cash Bar, and seating available which os on a First come first served basis. Come early to guarantee a seat! The band is aprticualrly keen to strengthen existing links with Swing Dance Summertown dancers and all their gigs are very dancer friendly.

About The Carpathians
The Carpathians are an unconventional “cross over” Big Band, and something of a rare treat in the Jazz Swing scene here in OXford. They play a fusion of Swing, Jazz, Jive and contemporary music with a classic swing beat. This provides dancers with loads to dance to across a number of dance styles such as Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegatie Shag, Ballroom and the occasional Latin dance too. It brings people together with different dance styles into a fun party atmosphere.
