Oxford Swing Dance continue their Summer program of events with the Sunday afternoon Social Tea Dance for June 2023.
Summertown Swing runs on every second Sunday of the month. We can’t wait to welcome you onto the dance floor for a the first of our Summer dances and a great afternoon of music. Fell free to dress up and welcome the sunshine back.
Our DJs will once again be at work to play some great tunes and get your happy feet tapping to the Swing Beat. We play everything from the 1920s to the 2020s. One of the features of Summertown Swing is the old school CD DJ set as well as more modern digital formats remastered from the originals. All this for your dancing pleasure. It provides you with some of the most eclectic and loved sounds of the Jazz Age as well as those inspired by it. Entry is only £6 and you can pay by cash or card on the door.
Tea & Cake & A Warm Welcome For Everyone
For those who enjoy a treat there is always a wonderful spread of cakes to enjoy with your tea and coffee. There will also be some savoury snacks for those who don’t have a sweet tooth. Come along and catch up with friends for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon of music and dancing.
Summertown Swing Social offers a welcome to everyone and tries to provide a unique environment where dancers feel able to bring their non-dancing family and children. It’s perfect for young families who don’t feel they get the time to get out to dance anymore. It also provides an opportunity to catch up with friends. There will usually be a few toddlers who have been studying mum and dad’s dance moves and already look destined to be swing dancers in the future.
